Wellness involves a constant awareness of your state of being and the ability to make daily choices towards a more healthy and fulfilling life. It’s not simply an attempt at being free from illness, but a dynamic effort to achieve your full potential in mind, body and spirit.
Continuing with the wellness initiative we began for our Aditi community, Thursday, July 18th was the third consecutive year we celebrated Wellness Day in school.
Our aim this year was to introduce the importance of physical movement among our students. This year, Std. 11 and 12 got to choose one of these body movements from inspiring artists to work with: Capoeira; Poi; Hip Hop freestyle; Buddhist Rap; Breaking; Contemporary and Slacklining. Other sections had simple, age-appropriate activities, facilitated by trained professionals. The whole school participated in a physical fitness activity from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by a nutritious snack.
We hope to continue our commitment towards the overall well being of our Aditi community.
